Title: Junior Gong & Ghetto Youths International Live
Concept: Live Reggae show

Cost: US$25
Venue: BB Kings House of Blues
Date: Wednesday, December 12th, 2001

Straight to the point.......

Although "no money nah mek and man (in the case woman) a suffa" I had to
find the $25 dollars to go see Damian Marley. It was $25 dollars well spent.
Junior Gong's performance was nothing short of fantastic. He had the crowd
(especially the females...one in particular who kept screaming out "I love
you Junior Gong") in a state!

The scene was very laid back, almost chill- with people of every ethnicity
out to enjoy an evening of niceness at B.B. King's in Manhattan. It was a
beautiful sight. Herbs was blazin and juice was flowin' while the 'youngest
veteran' provided the audience with an energy filled performance. Many ofthe
tracks from the new album, half Way tree as well as a few from his his
first, Mr. Marley, were performed alonsgside Dadigan, Yami Bolo, and the
phenomenal Stephen Marley. Close your eyes for a minute when Stephen is on
the mic, and trust mi you would feel like the King himself was on stage
performing. The similarity in their voices is uncanny.

Yami Bolo deserves special mention...his performance of "Still Searchin"
and "Stand a Chance" with Marley cannot be put into words for fear of it
losing its effect...it was just too tough!!
Ofcourse I was waiting for Capleton to appear out of the wings to perform
'It was written' with the two brothers. But alas....no such luck!
Nevertheless, Damian and Stephen held their own without the Fireman's
chants.

The band was unbelievable. Obviously experienced musicians, the sound quality
was exceptional and the timing perfect. This was by far one of the best live
performances I have ever witnessed!

Peace. TRU
