You may remember Nadz from back in the mid nineties when she just started performing in D-Kode on little stage shows here and there with her partner at the time, Shakera (and Quizz too but that's another story).

If not, maybe you remember her from that song "Can't Wait" (M-Phatic label). The video was set on the beach with her rapping so smooth 'bout making her man some soup. If her name and face still don't strike a chord, you'll definitely remember her from all the press she got after winning the coveted Caribbean Music Expo Talent Contest in March this year. SO?, you say? heheh... watch di hype...

This top man Nadz knows - Brian Jobson - has a likkle link with a next top man name Dave Stewart, seen? Dave Stewart liked her stuff and put her and her manager, Stephen Ventura on the next flight to London. So I know you might be asking - "Who is Dave Stewat anyway?" Nuh worry yuhself, same ting I ask myself too.You see that nice lady standing there beside Jimmy Cliff and Nadz? You probably know that's Annie Lennox from the Eurythmics. Well Dave Stewart is the second half of Eurythmics, Musician Extraordinaire (4-time winner of Best Producer in the UK actually) and founder of the Artist Network.

The Artist Network
This young yet promising and solid UK based label was in the works when Nadz first touched down in April of this year. Dave immediately signed Nadz making her the first artist on AN (Jimmy was signed later.) Shortly thereafter, Da Universal Playaz (DUP) was formed.

DUP brings together Gary “Mudbone” Cooper, Nadz, and Camar. In Mudbone, DUP has the ultimate of funk, soul, and blues vocals. Mudbone comes from the streets of Baltimore, and is the real thing! Nadz, born in Kingston, has broken the trend of female performers in Jamaica. She recently won the Caribbean Music Expo. Nadz provides the raps to DUP along with an electrifying stage performance. Camar, born in Kingston, Jamaica, has a voice like a young Stevie Wonder and is a multi-instrumentalist. Camar is a brilliant performer and the perfect foil to Mudbone’s powerhouse vocals.

The DUP album was produced by Dave Stewart, 4 times winner of Best Producer in the UK. Dave plays the role of musical director and also plays guitar live with DUP.

2003
Nadz deh a Europe now on tour with DUP (check dates below). When she get back to England to her nice "phat flat" and her Musical Family, she's going right back in the studio to work on more hot joints to keep up with the demand. Yeah, that's right. Watch di Hype. DUP recently released their first single "Freedom's Coming". If you missed it on ER, nuh worry yuhself... you soon start see dem nuff.
