Stages
- Part of the Appleton Temptation Isle weekend in Negril
Promoters:
Absolute Entertainment
Date: Saturday,
August 2nd, 2003 - Independence Weekend
Venue: Wavs,
Negril
If
anybody knows about partying, yard style, they know about
Absolute, the creators of Stages.
Alex,
Gary, Sean, Jamie and Appleton hooked up for a SAMPLE (as
in wicked) Stages this Independence at Wavs, Negril.
I'm
telling you from now that I didn't venture out in the crowd
once for the whole night after I got there at 8pm,
but it was ram. Mi nuh inna no bounce down thing
from anybody. It's hard enough just being in a moving vehicle
so I don't need to squash up with thousands of party peeps.
The backstage sufficed for the
bulk of the evening. I did go into the VIP when
I just got there but there was no VX and you know that is
unacceptable for me. They did however have some fruity,
frosty cocktails that I heard were delish, though.
The
music was pumping all night long. Outta Miami, yard man
like Richie D., Peter T., Bambino
and Black Chiney were on the wheels and locals
Renaissance and Kurt "The Party
Animal" Riley were representing to the fullest.
Green Lantern (Eminem's
resident DJ), Coppershot and Code Red were in the
house as patrons. The music could not have been any louder
and the crowd was loving it.
This
was the weekend's brand-name super all-inclusive event.
Everything your little heart could desire was included past
the gate. If you didn't know, one could purchase Appleton
bands for the entire weekend which included Stages (and
Fully Loaded, Appletini and Rick's Cafe). Food did a
run, I heard, but I am not liberty to discuss anything but
the music, the ice, the pepsi and the VX backstage for
the mere fact that I stayed one place and I don't eat at
parties anyway (unless there's Sushi).
I know
alot of you think that Stages is notorious for running out
of food and liquor at their parties in Jamaica but 'memba
mi tell yuh- Nothing ran out backstage
and I only heard there was a little problem with chasers
at the crowd bars. There was even ice to the very end. Stages
is a party that everyone has to go to. Everyone planned
to go and everybody did go. It come een like an uptown Fully
Loaded. The real hype without the stage show. The place
was cawk with superstars. Elephant
Man is a real superstar, really. Ele epitomizes
superstardom. He was there with other superstars like Bounty,
Wayne, Angel Doolas, Kip Rich, Kurup, Ninjakid AND (check
this out) Looga Man AND Mossy Kid - Dutty,
yeh! Long time I don't see Mossy. I understand he's getting
his career in shape up in New York. Lookin' forward to the
forward.
I
have to big up all the sites that were in the house too.
Foundation man like Cyberjam and Partyinc
was present. You see the
pic. Don't get the foundation twisted. Kwame
from Cyberjam.net fully had a Canon charger for my dead
batteries that saved the night for Whaddat. Big up Dre
from Partyinc.com, a nuh mus'! Dem a get into video
now. I saw Tha Chad with a camcorder on stage. Watch
di bandwidth my yutes! :) Partyspree.com
did deh deh, Watever.com
and a nex' yute name DJ Kidd who's starting yet another
party site from Yard. We already have enough with the foundation
sites but all the sites popping up are good and deserve
dem props, no doubt. More power.
Damn!
How could I forget!? Whata-gwan
keep on keepin' it on, Whaddat? Have to big up
the big site, the foundation for the real Miami/Yard - Whata-gwan.com
baby yeeeeeah! Big up Jamie... you too sweet.
MTV2
was also in the house getting
footage for the M2 Bashment Weekend coming soon. Big
up the toppa camerman Jason Williams (you know you
and Don Yute have the same name) and the lovely host for
the show... I don't know her name but she was cool. Watch
out for Jason getting involved in some *ahem* local productions.
I ain't sayin' no more, but on that note, I was workin'
very hard that weekend... especially at Stages. Look
out for the run down on RETV this week! My "return" to the
camera was very harrowing. I can't manage 2 nights out in
a row much less 4... I don't know
how I did it. Must be the Independence energy
- knowing I just had to be at all those hot parties!
Big
up Absolute fo shizzle. We left at about 2am
and the next stop was been Club Liquid at The Jungle. The
Whaddat Cam was dead dead dead, so SORRY! No pics but the
vibes were right. Big up DJ Epps, Protoge and Jazzy T.
who ran the tables that night (morning).
See
y'all next year Saturday Independence Weekend!
Blesssssss.
Mic!
