| What
a day, what a day! I haven't been on a trip like this one in a
long while. A bona fide bus trip to Sashi, ladies & gentlemen.
One 57 seater tour bus and 25 rum drinkin', weed smokin' (well,
24 weed smokin'... I don't partake in such activities) hard party-ers.
The lot was supposed to meet in Manor Park Plaza at 10am. The
last person got there at 1:30 and we were on our way to Ochi at
2pm.
The
bus had two fully stocked bars and an intercom system. Rum, Mic
Chik and intercom system. Needless to say - I had a good time
on the bus. |

| This
year, I spent alot of time in the crowd with my bus pals, in between
sets and during both Donnell Jones'
and Usher's performances. Why?
'Caw mi nuh really like the bubblegum R&Pop
music. Is that a sin? Damn! I tell yuh!!! Usher's set
was impressive but di yute SWEAR seh him is the second coming of
Jacko. Like he was just standing rigid at times staring out in the
crowd like Michael Jackson did at one Superbowl half time show for
two minutes. It's all good.. whatever works for him yuh knuh? Big
artist dat same way. |

So,
like I said - mi nuh inna di R&Pop ting... I'm a regular meat
& potatoes kinda girl, so if you're asking me "Who
had the best performance of the night?" I'd say
"Why, Busta and Spliff Star of
course!" Mi nuh business wha nuhbady wan' seh
bout dat. Dem fully mash up di place! TOK
and Bling Dawg both
did very well also. I was pleases to see Desperado garner a great
response when the fab four brought him on stage.
Of
course wi cyaan leave out the most dappa of dappa Don Daddas right..
we all know that, but that spark, dat OOMPH was missing from Supercat's
performance. I don't know why! Mi ask him nuttin? Cha-a-a-a...
But I guess it may be because it's been a while since his last
stage appearance in Yard and he was by far the most anticipated
act (in locals' eyes) for the night.. maybe it throw him off likkle.
Whatever it was, the performance of course was tuff sed way...
"Mi seh dolly mi seh dolly my baby!"
Bap Bap!!!
Eve
was another bus di place performer. When she began
belting out "Love Is Blind"
can I just tell you that every woman in the place was
practically paying homage to the "illest bitch, pit bull
in a skirt". And aahm.. hear mi nuh... she had on the most
bashiest shoes I ever see inna mi life. Like custom made Timberland
stillettos ok. Geezam!!
being a relatively new artist with only a couple of hits went
over very well with the crowd. When Missy
came up unexpectedly, the people went crazy! She let go one piece
a "Get Your Freak On"
but I was running around back stage with a dead battery trying
to find my charger at the time. Mucho apologies, yuhsimi. |

| So,
all in all Sashi 2K2 was another excellent production. Once again,
unfortunately, I had another problem with the media area front
stage. At one point the security wouldn't allow me in there because
it was too packed, eventhough I am clearly an active member of
the media. Please, once again cool Sashi dudes - this year was
better... make next year incident free. Respec' and big up everybody
who reads our reviews.
BLESS!
