Britsh came to Jamaica in April and made front page news
because of her affiliation with the British Link-Up crew,
the opening of her fashion boutique (after the hype launch
for it) and of course, the following event.. her fabulous Fashion
Show. The gears were hot, but the Whaddat Cam
was more concerned about the people there! Lena
and AJ (Lena's second and backbone) were there of course,
and the big man, Fadda Fowl (British)
was in full effect, dancing up a storm! Stone
Love provided the music and maybe getting it a little
too rowdy, things were wrapped
up at midnight. All three of us
were there. Tru Honey was decked
out in full black accented with gold, Fyah
Wire was in a lovely polka-dot tube dress which puffed
at the bottom and I, Mic Chik,
was wearing a cut-up Moschino shirt and a yellow ball skirt, very
fitting for the British Fashion extravaganza. |

P. (1992 - the best, by the way) was FLOWING,
along with a slew or other fine liquers but the most important
thing is that the fashion show went over very well
without any hitches. The models were fab and Danielle
O'Hayon (Miss Jamaica World 2002) was fully on the catwalk
strutting her stuff. Big up Lena...
yuh dun know The Whaddat Chicks need some gear..

ASYLUM'S
DANCEHALL NIGHT
So,
the Fashion Show did done
early-ish and I wasn't ready to go home,
so we went to the Asylum
for Dancehall Night with Stone
Love.
Artists
are always there (this week in particular,
Beenie Man was there, along with Famous Face,
General B and Boom Dandemite) but more
importantly, since IT IS a club, the sound guys as
well as the dancers are
always there. Labba Labba, John Hype, Sadiki, Ice,
Junko Bashment, Kullo Kullo (dancers) and Weepow
of course, it IS Stone Love that plays), Matterhorn,
big belly Skyjuice, and I have to big up the
wholla Stone Love - Pow, Chin, Platinum Lips
aka. Swamp Ting, Rory, GeeFus, Billy Slaughter,
Bill Cosby, Iceberg and no doubt- Richie Feelings.
Yow,
if you have never been to Asylum on Dancehall
Night (every Thursday), something is wrong
with you. The vibes are wicked and the music is
great. Oonu know how dancehall dancing is taking
over the world now, so I suggest if you want to learn
something, u go there (that's what I do).
In
closing this review of Lena British's Fashion show
and Asylum Dancehall
night (is really all about the pics), I
just want to big up the Asylum
crew for letting us in all the time: Ribbie,
Too Tall, Trainer,
Orett,
Cliffy and all
the girls.
I
also want to say big up to my wardrobe
consultant for
the night.. it's ALL about you, sweetheart.
