Mic:
Caw when di smoke cleared, and Bounty perform, chu
chu chu chu, di place mash down! It was all bout di stage show,
people. We got there at 2, show started at 3. Very well put together.
Tru: VIP was ram as hell!
I guess there are alot of VIP's in this country.
Mic: I know! I'm still nursing
the bruises from the fight to get through the gate!
Tru: The gate man bwoy...need
some training! That's not a job for anybody!! He couldn't control
the amount of people trying to get back there! As a result he
(they) had to resort to violence. I guess that's what happens
when they use one little man trying to fend off 100 niggas that
bum rushing the gate.
Mic: It must be a real tough.
But at least we got back there eventually in time to snap some
shots of Khaled working it. 'Im hype eeh?
Tru: Khaled basically tear
up di place. The other people working including Tony Matterhorn
didn't really get much of a reaction from the audience. Fire Links
didn't even show up. I guess everybody came for the stage show.
Mic:
Fi real! And what a stage show!! I was very pleased with the organization.
Quick and tidy. Black Rat & Spice kicked it off...(note to Rat-the
shades...THE SHADES!! *shakes head*) Spice was good...short and
hard.
Tru: Yes, and Assassin and
Vibez Cartel were representing well for the young deejays.
Mic: Yo, dem mash it up!
Tru: And Barrington Levy of
course...old veteran...gave a great performance!
Mic: For sure! Then Ward 21
came on WITHOUT Mark...what's up with that? They are very hush
hush about it.
Tru: Their performance was
quick and on point. Then Lady Saw now...She was the SHIT! "Nuh
badda kiss nuh badda hug cuz a backshot mi love" - yeh Lady Saw
is wicked, di tune dem tough...she performed great as always and
she did have di man dem weak!
Mic: Wha! She went on with
her regular antics with a sound man, but when a male audience
member climbed up the lighting on stage, she fully run 'im!! Hahahaha
Tru: That chick she brought
on ...wow! Who was she?
Mic: That was a chick? *snicker*
Joke! She was pretty good still although the comic relief factor
overshadowed her performance.
Tru: Some of di man dem in
the audience was really doin' her bad.
Mic: Well, mi nuh know, but
nobody seems to know who she is...but I would recommend that everybody
keeps their eyes peeled, because I have a feeling that she may
bus' one day. Maaaaaaaybe.

Tru:
Well, next it was Junior Gong and the fam'. Yo, Junior
Gong was...he was...amazing. He reminds me of Bob...the stance
dem...I don't know if is a conscious ting or what but he's definitely
destined for big tings. And when he and Stephen performed "It
Was Written", the place bus'. It's a shame that Capleton was not
there to perform the tune with them. But it never really take
from it.
Mic: Trus' me rude girl...I
was mesmerized by the whole set. Wow. I haven't seen "Mr. Gong"
since high school and never seen him perform and it blew me away.
Especially with Kymani singin' back up. That was wicked. And of
course, Stephen, my favourite Marley..WOO!
Tru: Bling Dawg was alright.
I guess cuz dem always a rinse him songs, there wasn't really
anything new for me, still. That's just my opinion.
Mic: Well, mi ah tell yuh
seh Bling Dawg love di stage bwoy! It's all his when he's up there.
Him mash up di place!!
Tru: Bounty made a surprisingly
early entrance. But di man FULLY dun it. It's impossible to follow
him!
Mic: Iz all about Bounty Killa.
Supreme deejay. King of dancehall. Dun know. Wayne Marshall...
Tru: ...A true true true!!...
Mic: ...basically come on
with Killa and fully commanded the stage. My goodness gracious,
what a star! When they did Smoke Clears, it flattened Cinema 2!
Tru: Kurup then came on briefly...
Mic: "ALL WE DO IS SMOKE EVERYDAY!"
Tru: That was very short.
I guess it wasn't planned.

Mic:
Well, it worked regardless. Richie Stephens, Nitty Kutchie, Kip
Rich (wid a new bashment style), Frankie Sly and Beenie Man all
performed with THE KILLER...and of course dun it.
Tru: Yuh know seh 'im fully
BLAST Vegas - I had NO idea. I didn't know they had beef.
Mic: Wha'im seh bout Vegas?
I was backstage for a little bit.
Tru: He basically seh dat
di man is a homosexual.
Mic: NO WAY. What EXACTLY
'im seh?
Tru: Well I don't know 'bout
verbatim but him seh something bout if 'im see Vegas a walk down
di road, Vegas haffi go walk pon di nex' side. Him did a cuss
bear bad word like him did vex...like killin' people and dem ting
deh. Him did bring up Lexxus, Sizzla and of course Merciless name
too. It was not pretty.
Mic: Well, a fi 'im show.
Killa run tings...who's to argue?
Tru: "Di mystery is a mystery
and di man is just a man...Warlord a mad man!" No doubt!
Mic: *BRAP BRAP* 'im fully
dun it...how many times have we said that already? And, for the
finale, 'im dun it again when Junior Gong joined him on stage.
Very cool.
Tru: I cyaan wait for 'Ghetto
Dictionary' to drop.
Mic: Trus' mi. So we ended
up leaving at what time?
Tru: 'Bout 5:30.
Mic: Then a nex' half hour
in traffic. Then bed rock and pillow jam in the blazin' sun.
Tru: See you next year! Peace!
Mic: B2K
2002. uh. One.
