| So, Whaddat
deh ah New Yawk.. not such a big ting since Fyah,
deh deh all the
time and Tru lived there
for 1 year,
but for me, Mic, it was a big
ting... it's not very often mi tek a plane go a farin. Lie dat actually...
just ask Hybrid's DJ Krypt from Miami
how Blink
go. Aright, so Jamaican artists were there in Queens competing against
New York based Jamaican on-air personalities (mostly from IRIE
JAMS 93.5 in NY). it was a big ting, still. Nuff artists flew
up for it and the crowd was enormous! |

| The
reason I was there is because they called us from NY to cover
it. We killed two birds with one stone and RETV was there
as well from a next phone call (MTV 2 was in the house
as well). The best part about the whole match was flying up
with everybody. I've never really been on a plane full of
deejays before and it was hilarious. I spent alot of time
with Mr. G (formerly known as Goofy) and listened to some
new tracks he has. Big tings a gwaan. |

| The
worst part about the match is that I was so cold! Lawd, I
forgot about Spring time up north... it's terrible. See me
in the hotel a buss one t-shirt like me is a bad gyal. I was
asking all the artists how come they were wearing track suits.
Trus' mi, at 4pm I knew why. B-R-R-R!! The next worse thing
was the food. Don't get me wrong, now... it did taste good
but God know I paid $20 (US) for a plate of curry goat and
a soft drink. Mi nah tell no lie. Mussi true mi is a white
gyal, mi nuh know. |

| So,
the football (soccer for all y'all yankees) was a big ting and
IT WAS A DRAW - 2 ALL. Big
up all the artists who played (not to mention toppa top
football players like Ali McNabb) and big respec' going
out to the promoters of this event and all the IRIE
JAM massive. NB.. fiah BUN a food man at this place.. oonu
too DEAR!
Oh,
and one last thing... big up mi bredda an' him wife and dem
yute, Ben. I took a bus from New York's Port Authority to
Toronto to meet him, after the match. 12 rass hours one way, seen?
Also, when we were leaving from LaGuardia a couple days after
first thing in the morning, I saw Ludacris in the airport
and I had just come from a party so I was all vibes, and I call
to him and ask him if him nuh want an interview pon Whaddat, and
him seh next time cuz him was in a rush... heheh.. too bad my
cam was locked up in my bag. By the way, Ludacris is hot as hell.
Just a funny little story to close it with. BIG UP!
One!
Blesssss... Mic
